of Grave Location Obituaries The Salem Evening News - Monday, June 28, 1915 Tynan - In Salem, June 27, at 123 1/2 Boston street, Thomas Tynan. (Funeral Tuesday morning at 7.15 o'clock at the home of his son, Edward S. Tynan, 9 Sturtevant street, Beverly, and requiem high mass in St. James church, Salem, at 8 o'clock. Relatives and friends invited. Please omit flowers.) The Salem Evening News - Tuesday, June 29, 1915 Funeral of A Veteran The funeral of Thomas Tynan was held at the home of his son, Edward S. Tynan, 9 Sturtevant street, Beverly, this morning, and was followed by requiem high mass in St. James church, Salem. A large number of friends attended. The burial was in St. Mary's cemetery, Salem by Undertaker Patrick W. Murphy. Mr. Tynan was a veteran of the Civil war, serving as a member of the Ninth Independent battery of Massachusetts Light Artillery. The hearse was covered with the American flag, and the flag of Post 34, G. A. R. was half-staff. Murphy, great grandson of Patrick Murphy, of the Murphy Funeral Home, Salem for assisting in researching the burial information.
