A new government issued grave plaque has been installed for Eber Hill. The old grave stone was made from marble and would have quickly become unreadable because of the elements and its flat position.
On June 11, 2005, the Department of Massachusetts SUVCW placed a G.A.R. marker on his grave.
Below is the history of his previous grave stone.
Above is Eber Hill's burial location at Calvary Cemetery on November 2, 2004. There was nothing marking his grave, as the government stone had been covered over with sod. The next day his grave stone was uncovered and the photograph below shows its restored state.
Eber Hill's government grave stone was broken at the point where it would have been buried up to. It was resting flat on the ground in Section D. November 7, 2004.
Thank you to the Department of Massachusetts SUVCW, Jodi Fuller at the Catholic Cemetery Association of the Archdiocese of Boston, Inc. and the Ground Keepers at Calvary Cemetery for their assistance in restoring this grave site.
